Iranian director Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian has set to make a sequel for his feature ‘Midday Adventures’.
To be produced by Seyyed-Mahmoud Razavi, the director will soon begin making ‘Midday Adventures 2’
Co-written by Hossein Torab-Nezhad and Ebrahim Amini, the sequel will be made in political genre.
‘Midday Adventures’, a political drama that portrays the terrorist atrocities of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) in Iran during the 1980s, was crowned best at the 35th Fajr Film Festival in 2017.
It also bagged 4 other Simorgh awards, namely the Audience Favorite Film, Best Scenic Designer, Best Costume Designer and Best Film with National View.
‘Midday Adventures’ has gone on screen in Iran and a number of global film events, including the Istanbul International Crime and Punishment Film Festival in Turkey and the International Film Festival of India in Goa.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has lauded political drama ‘Midday Event’, saying “This film was very good. Everybody played his part very well; the directing was great, the acting was very good. The plot was great. It was a well-made film.”

Mahdavian’s previous movie ‘Standing in the Dust’ also received a Crystal Simorgh for Best Film from the 34th edition of the Fajr Film Festival in 2016.
